Wake Forest University is very dear to our hearts. We value the school's academics most highly, but we also want our athletic teams to meet the highest standards. We believe this is not possible for the men's basketball program given the current leadership of Jeff Bzdelik. A successful basketball program requires a sense of team and a sense of purpose. It requires a leader who has developed a strong plan and who has clearly communicated it to the entire team in such a way as to gain understanding and/or buy-in. There has unfortunately not been evident in the two seasons under Coach Bzdelik's watch, nor have we seen any sign that the situation is significantly improving. Furthermore, it is obvious from post-game comments made by Coach Bzdelik that he is unwilling to take responsibility for any problems. Therefore, we regretfully ask Coach Bzdelik to resign for the good of the Wake Forest Community.
