I agree Michael. I've been an adjunct at Pace for 15 years and every year our monies go to the Union but we get les and less back. The whole house of cards hinges on adjuncts being too busy earning a living to take the time to get involved and to learn what their Union is -- or isn't -- doing. Everyone reading this should also keep in mind that Pace pays lawyers A LOT of money every year to stall and delay and water down negotiations. A LOT of MONEY. Imagine if they paid us a decent living instead of paying the lawyers!

Whiling paying my dues automatically, I have not received anything in compensation for years. Every year in the past many, I have made LESS than the year before, because the "increase" that the Union had agreed to in negotiations, were below the national inflation rates. Meaning: the wages I receive are not even compensating for that, let alone an increase income. This union has proven to be a loyal servant to Pace Admin, providing them with our service at less cost every year

I support the immediate resignation and/or investigation of the activities of Bill Quinlan in his capacity leading the UAFP for the past several years. He has created an environment of corruption. He has fought only (mostly) for his own personal financial gain. He has resisted establishing open lines of communication over the years with adjuncts in Pleasantville and in different departments. He has had a policy of not answering emails. I know he held an election about 4 or 5 years ago in which one person ran against him and he set up the ballot to appear as if you had to choose between the entire slate of UAFP positions/posts vs the one individual. This was done intentionally to skew results. The finances have not been adequately kept track of. Each month a portion of our monies goes to fund the lawyer Harvey Mars who is aware of these and other inaccuracies and has done nothing. So do I want to see Bill QUinlan gone? Hell, yes. And let's get a new labor lawyer too!
