The safety of the toddler section at the Butes play park, has been an ongoing issue between parents and the states of Alderney for over a year now. With the skate park taking over the toddler section in 2014 and the states agreeing to move the location of the toddler section to the other end of the park, many parents feel this is the perfect opportunity for the States to invest in the toddler section to make the equipment safe and secure for the islands young. The states have agreed to put a fence around the newly located toddler area but will not invested in the equipment, or any of the equipment in the rest of park despite some of it being 60 years old. This is the only park on the island so please lets stress the importance of this facility to the states, it needs to be updated and maintained properly!
