Even the Grade A and B listed buildings in Edinburgh are being allowed fairly radical changes to bring them into the 21st C. To be honest, Rothesay over the past decade has been looking more and more jaded. The council need to get it's act together. Stop puting petty bureaucracy before the interests of the town and its people. And you wonder why the population of Bute is falling???

There are so many double glazed windows in Rothesay that it seems unnecessary to hold this business back from having efficient glazing. I do support the idea that the choice of windows should be carefully looked at so that they duplicate e shape of the ones already there.

This hotel is seen by visitors coming off the ferry so it is only right that the owner should be allowed to make it comfortable.

This is a disgrace. Harry and hazel must be allowed there windows, no objections and no stipulations

It's about time the planning department started working for the benefit of the local community,mrather than to some theoretical aesthetic plan that nobody supports. On the one hand we are told the council is concerned about falling population levels, but then force people to live or work in out-of-date, buildings in towns that are rapidly becoming slum centres because the buildings cannot be properly modernised, or demolished and replaced.

As a regular summer visitor to Bute, the decline suffered by Rothesay has always caused me concern. The Bute House project has gone some way to address this decline. Harry & Hazel Greene's efforts need supporting by the granting permission for their windows, thereby encouraging others to engage in their own projects.
