This bus lane policy is in chaos !!!

I was fined for being in a bus lane on Christmas evening when no buses were running absolute nonsence.

The times are all different depending on what street you are on which is very confusing. They should all be for the same times. In addition, there should be no charges at all on both Saturday and Sunday as the volume of traffic going to work is far less at peak times. With regard to the signage coming out of the carpark that nobody can see if theres a bus in front of it, all these charges should be scrapped. It's theft!

It's ridiculous to have these charges. If buses and taxis are in 'our' lanes should they not be charged? Do away with these fines.

Poor signage, no clear indication of operation times. Simply a money making machine for the council.

Bus should only be in force when Traffic is at peak

My wife was fined after making a U turn into a bus lane to pick up her sister in the city after 11pm. It has put us off returning to the city

The hours of operations should only be during busy times (0730-0930 and 1600-1800) Monday to Saturday excluding Bank Holidays and Christmas and New Year. Signage should be highly visible be

Bus lanes should be scrapped ...they are nothing more than highway robbery and do nothing to alleviate traffic or improve air quality ..in fact the opposite is the case ...if they scrap them in manchester they can scrap them here

It was Christmas day they snapped me. Ho Ho Ho they must have said.

I agree the cameras are there for raising money. Shame on the councillors who authorised this.

It's time for the council to drop the pretencethatthe cameras and buslanes are for the good of the city.Maybe that's how it started but when it was realised how much money the council could raise from the scheme they went hell for leather in pusuit of the motorists' cash. That's the size of it , pure and simple.

I have just been issued with a bus lane fine and a print out of my car in the bus lane. I'm astonished as there is are no buses in sight it was early in the morning and still quiet on the roads. If i do not pay ths £30 fine by 4.04/14 it will increase to £60 !

Where is the logic of fines when there are no buses ?

I have no issue with the use of cameras for this but it is clear that prevention is not the motivation here and cash generation is. The locations chosen and the approach to enforcement make this clear.

I have been fighting for the right to appeal a bus lane fine with GCC since January 2013. They simply dont listen. I now have to fight the issue with GCC and their Debt Collection Agency.
