Hey everyone... I am starting this petition as a concerned parent of the Massillon City school system. Did you know that the Massillon bus garage buses kids from Massillon JR High/Intermediate school, Franklin Elementary, and Gorrell Elementary to the Massillon Boys and Girls Club? But not the kids of Whittier Elementary. I have looked up each location via Mapquest and have found that from Massillon JR High/Intermediate it is only 2.09 miles, from Franklin Elementary it is only 1.57 miles, and from Gorrell Elementary it ranges between 2.05-2.16 depending on which route is taken. In order to go from Whittier Elementary to the Boys and Girls club it is only 3.06 miles; which is only about a mile difference!

I do not feel that our children from Whittier should be punished by living one mile too far! Why can they not receive the same treatment as the other children in the community? The Boys and Girls Club is a great place for kids to interact, make new friends, participate in events, learn responsibilities and have fun.

Please help support this petition in hopes that a bus will be provided for our Whittier children to have the same opportunities as all of the other children at the other Massillon schools.

Thank you!
