Burj Kids Need Lids! In other words..

Despite the increased number of children and families in the Burj Khalifa building their has been no apparent measure taken to provide indoor facilities despite the weather/heat preventing children to recreate outdoors for a large portion of the year. As the world’s tallest building - Burj Khalifa should continue to strive to set a standard if not precedence.

This lack of amenities for the children of the building is stark. There is no “suitable” area for the children to play; splash pool is empty and a danger! No slide or “suitable swings” (2 for entire building that are unsuitable for infants and small children as not saddle seats) or slides no dedicated green area, no shade area and no dedicated internal play area. The existing area used is unsuitable most of the year and the access totally impractical (why no simple access utilizing the lift in the Burj Club?).

In contrast the Adult residents have gymnasiums, business centers, meeting rooms etc...How can the children that approximately represent 30% to 40% of the residents have not a single area to engage and play away from humidity and sun?

"Burj Kids Need Lids" is an appeal to prioritize the outdoor playground and to give the children of Burj Khalifa an indoor facility to recreate.

In the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum “I believe that if the vision is clear then the objectives can be easily achieved.”.
