It is our belief that the twenty year old vauge and questionably enforced "vicious dog" ordinance in the city of Erlanger needs to be reviewed and/or revised as it is currently left to individual law enforcement officials to determine what dogs they believe to have "Pit Bull" characteristics and therefore either evict the dog or force the citizen to sell their property when the animal has not even been proven to be a nuisance, a Pit Bull or even had a complaint. This animal in question happens to be a joy to the residents of the city and is part Staffordshire Terrier not even full blooded Pit Bull. I think the ordinance needs additional verbage to provide a platform for determining if the pet is indeed a nuisance so that unfair judgement is taken from individual law officials.

My name is Jay Jones, a resident of Erlanger, KY for 30 years and homeowner for 5+. I\'ve drawn up this petition after a County dog warden randomly stopped in front of my house because he suspected my dog had characteristics of a Pit Bull and ordered me to remove the dog due to a city ordinance. This puppy was a house warming gift from a life-long friend that has since passed and if the City Council fails me I must sell my house and move Counties.
