BULLY SQUAD CADETS Introduction: Of the BULLY SQUAD CADETS PILOT PROGRAM. A BULLY is a UNINTELLIGENT LOWLIFW YOUNGSTER The Bully Squad Cadet Pilot Pogram will set the purpose of kids taken care of kids. While also putting focuses on the importance of belonging and the commitment to the purpose that will keep the kids engaged in communication activities so that when a bully comes along the kids would know that they have a group they feel a connection to and not afraid to come and get help. It is not about building up the strengths and character of the individual, it is about getting the individual connected to a peer group, so that the physical need to belong is fulfilled. Relationships of the kids in the school systems are real players in the adolescent development of the kids. The Bully Squad Cadets would focus on building a community of kids who would know how to take care of one another. We cannot build a program that simply gives the kids strategies as an individual to deal with bulling, we have to focus on the group and building a group of kids who's purpose is for kids to take care of kids. The Bully Squad Cadets group along with the principles and staff would build an identity on and off school campus and we would develop and put into process a plan to get all the kids connected to the group. Every year an estimated 1.3 million American high school children drop out of school. The nation's children are it's future workers, citizens and leaders. Education remains the major tool by which people become empowered and the economic, social, and personal well being of all citizens in a pluralistic society increases. The high school drop out rate diminishes and the pool of qualified people from diverse backgrounds who will enter the professional and political ranks that make important public policy decisions. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if every school mission were to educate every student to become knowledgeable, responsible, socially skilled, healthy, caring and contributing citizens? The fact that so many students never complete high school has a deep wide ranging impact on the United States long term economic out look. The stakes have only increased for those who drop out over time . The American Psychological Association has a long time commitment to school drop out prevention as it is evident from it's 1996 resolution on the topic. In 2008 the national dropout rate was estimated at 8% of individuals ages 16 through 24 either not enrolled in school or without there diplomas or GED s. There are no single risk factors predicting dropouts. Rather there are numerous risk factors that in combination with each other raises the probability of the youth leaving high school early. Peer association have an important effect on academic outcomes. Peer relationships can create a set of norms and values that either promote or undermine academic achievement. Meaningful and positive relationships with peers that the BULLY SQUAD would bring is positive relationships with the kids and there peers that would promote psychological and life skills and may promote higher achievements and motivations. In addition to improving the quality of school environment, students benefit from school prevention programs that enhance their social and emotional assets, managing emotions and interpersonal situations effectively. The Bully Squad Cadets would produce positives outcomes. 1.Partnership between the schools and the children 2.Safe and orderly schools and classrooms environment 3.Caring relationships between the kids and teachers and parents 4.Cooperative learning and proactive classroom environment 5.High academic exceptions of the kids and all peers In developing a school based approach to creating a safe school and positive school climate the single most important factor that the Bully Squad Cadets leadership Program would bring and focus on is the importance of developing a sense of security, belonging, high self es-teem, morals, ethics ,identity, higher learning, self control and the list can go on for the good. After middle school, kids become sources of support and motivation to achieve, while the quality of teachers and students relationships tend to decline. As we set next years calender and the calenders to come ahead of us, I only hope that we can attack this critical issue in the youth development with great activities, assemblies and orientations. It is very critical that we form a student body with feelings and connection for they the children are our future and one day will run this country and it is time for us to really connect. With the Bully Squad Cadets Pilot Program it will set the purpose of kids taken care of kids and focus on the importance of belonging and keep the kids in communication with one another. Truly Yours Carla M. Cowan BULLY SQUAD PILOT PROGRAM PURPOSAL I hope we the Jefferson County School Board can be the PILOTS to get this project off the ground and into the air. I really believe it would work if we tried it for two years. 1.We try it for two years 2.All volunteers workers for the first two years free, if program works the ones who stayed the whole two years will be the first one's to get on the pay role, an dthe ones to help train all the new commer's 3.All volunteers be checked just like usual in Jefferson County to volunteer 4.All volunteers be trained by child developer, FOR PEER PRESURE, AND SCENATIVITY. 5.All volunteers T -Shirts be provided by school or school broad 6 We will carry a 0 % tolerance against. Bulling. We do believe in a second chance,that is all that will be giving depending, If the bulling is the first time offense and there were no fighting . Student will be referred to counseling first and last time at the expense of the parents/ parent. Parents must show accountability to there kids as to why it is wrong to bulling another child , peer, person We'll carry a 0 % tolerance against any type of bulling including cyber bulling and not limited to all and any type of bulling of our school children ,Kids have the right under the law to go to school free from harassment, free from abuse, free from intimidation, free to go to school to learn to be all that they can be. 7.Students and parents/ parent/guardian will sign Bully Squad Contract as an oath. 8.All volunteers be provided an office and phones in office to make counseling appointment if the principles deems and fill' s the student needs 6 to 8 weeks of anger management for the act of bulling another student so it shall be. Counseling at the expense of the parents/ parent /guardian get Bully Cadets will get out letters of referrals. 9.
