We, The Undersigned, Petition His Excellency James B. Warlick, Jr., ambassador of the United States of America, to inform the US State Department that the bulgarian people strongly oppose the "Stop Online Piracy Act". We consider this bill a strong offence against freedom of speech and expression, that will affect not only american citizens, but people all over the world, including bulgarians. We are alarmed and dissapointed that such a piece of legislation is being approved in The United States, a country which has been a bastion of democracy and freedom for more than a century. We acknowledge that online piracy is a global problem. However, we consider censorship of websites such as YouTube and Facebook and the potential DNS blocking of blogs and other pages as extremely ineffective means to combat piracy, which hinder innovation and freedom of speech in global cyberspace. Lastly, we'd like to declare our solidarity with the millions of americans opposing this bill in the States, as they will be the real victims of this bill.
