Sad that this needs to happen. I used to love fame. I can't support you now.

It's time for Fame Winnipeg to accept responsibility for its actions. Who do they serve if not the very people historically and presently marginalized by society? I'm disappointed, but not surprised, at the continued failure to offer a true safe space for Winnipeggers.

I am not a member of this community, but I am signing in solidarity. Safe spaces should be a priority in this city, and this issue must be addressed.

This is on everyone that saw her there, recognized the issue, and did nothing. Yes there is a business involved and they have responsibilities, however claiming that it is an unsafe space is a harsh reach and damaging to the business's reputation.
The costume was racist. The bar should have prevented her from entering. Shame on the employees who remained silent (including the one who was fired) and the ones who let her in, as well as EVERY single other person who did nothing or chose to bump in to or spill drinks on the individual as a childish solution.
We are a community and everyone needs to act like it. It cannot simply fall on the shoulders of the few businesses that host us.

I would like to see substantive change happen with regard to approach in creating inclusive events, as well as addressing shortcomings in an open and compassionate way to those who suffer for the mistakes made.
Shame on Fame!!!
