Why does Tufts continue to be the only school in the City that refuses to hire union labor? PLA's ensure safe, quality work at fair prices. Get it right Tufts, and stop your anti bullying Nixon tactics

Do the right thing. Support good paying jobs, with good benefits. Hire union workers who spend years being trained to become highly skilled in their field.

PLAs provide a cost savings to customers. They provide the highest quality workers, standardized project requirements, and agreed upon job guidelines. All while ensuring that men and women are paid equally for equal work, a livable wage for all workers, and the benefits needed to prevent economic welfare. Tufts University needs to look themselves in the mirror and realize they're being part of the problem, not the solution!

A PLA will ensure that workers are not exploited. I am very familiar with a non union electrical contractor that Tufts has hired that pays his workers substandard wages, provides unsafe working conditions and he has a notorious record of performing shoddy work. A PLA will prevent this unsavory contractors and others like him from exploiting workers.

Funny how so many speak about social justice and how we should stand up for workers rights but few look in the mirror. Tufts needs to take a look around their community and hire contractors that provide an apprenticeship program, decent wages with benefits. This way all workers can live in the area and maintain a standard of living.

Tufts has to move beyond its hypocrisy of branding itself as being progressive and social justice-oriented while exploiting its labors.

It is definitely time for Tufts to show that they value the workers who help build this campus. I expect Tufts to maintain a higher standard of how they conduct their business in this community.

this is outrageous from a school that had a once illustrious history, that produced en like the late Jester Hairiston. Use union labor and get it done right

Construction workers have a far more difficult job than I do. Tufts has a chance to help elevate the standard of living for these incredibly hard workers. I'd prefer what construction workers we hire get paid well, than the money that would go to pay them simply finance the construction of more buildings through abusive labor practices.

As a parent of a student, I am shocked that the workers are not given more respect and consideration.

What kind of "light on the hill" is Tufts if building that light relies on pushing other people down?
