Here is a satellite link to 4S Ranch Community Park. You can see the lame bocce ball court nobody uses. They spent our hard-earned dollars on that waste of space but no skateboard bowl.

Here is the satellite link to the Poods Bowl. The transitions are sooooo perfect. Just wish that it had a deeper deep end with more vert. 10' transition with 1 foot vert would be perrrrrfect. I also wish that instead of a mickey mouse shape it was more of a larger kidney with just another short bump-out in the shallow. This is the design I would create if I were in charge. See the size of the picnic tables in comparison. This takes up barely any space at all so both parks would still have TONS of grass area that still won't be used, yet just so the park goers don't have anything to wine about.

Here is the Encinitas YMCA Kidney Bowl which I would use partially for the design by mixing the two designs. This also is 30 minutes drive and what is really a bummer is that it doesn't open until the afternoon. I want to skate in the morning so I can get a full day of work afterword. If they build a skateboard bowl where I want it in 4S Ranch, I could get up and skateboard for 2 hours and then have a full work day afterward.

I live in 4S Ranch. I skate pools/bowls and sometimes other transition. I have wanted a skate park near where I live forever. I always scratched my head wondering why with all of the money, all of the parks (many which get hardly any use and are just sitting there wasted), with all of the Mello Roos...why did they not build a skate park around here yet places with hardly any money in comparison like Oceanside, Vista, etc. have multiple skate parks. It makes zero sense to me. I had to teach my kids how to skateboard on the basketball courts and sometimes some people would be shooting baskets and I'd have to tell my kids to steer clear of that area. That right there and now that the kids are better we skateboard on the walkways where people walk, are the EXACT reason why skate parks are a very good thing for residents. This is due to the fact that the skateboarders have a place to go skateboard which is designated solely for wheel-based sports and those who enjoy basketball, walking, etc. at the standard parks will never have to deal with a skateboarder, kid on a razor, etc. flying buy again. With that said...it doesn't look like the skate park being made in Del Sur has a bowl or pool with pool coping. Come on. That actually takes up the least amount of space. So please please just add a bowl with pool coping similar to the one at Poods Park which takes me almost 30 minutes to drive to in Encinitas. In fact...I have skated every bowl in San Diego and I would be more than happy to design it because I know overall what the bowl skaters all want and do not have. It would be a cross between the Poods bowl and the Encinitas YMCA bowl with a tiny twist of Clairemont YMCA Bowl. There are so many parks where hardly anyone use that it would be perfect for. Such as the 4S Ranch Heritage Park. I only see people at the basketball courts doing tai chi (which is super rad by the way) but I never see anyone using the large grass area.
