Thinking objectively, this could very well encourage tourism from those who would not normally visit Ireland. Thinking as a fan, there should always be more acknowledgement of Star Trek beyond Kirk and Spock. Chief O'Brien is a shining example of the heights that the franchise's writing can reach, and one of the standout characters from not only the Deep Space 9 series but the entire rest of the franchise. Why not celebrate him, his hopeful and optimistic fictional universe, and beautiful Ireland in media, all at the same time?
