As an American of Irish descent (among others, of course) who visited Ireland for the first time a few years ago and fell in love with the country. Also a huge Star Trek and Miles O'Brien and Colm Meany fan. I think he would be a wonderful positive role model for any city, so I fully support this petition.

Colm Meany as Miles Edward O'Brien was the least offensive representative of Irishness ever.

A Trek fan, and descendant of many Irish branches. The character of O'Brien helped to dispell many stereotypes. He was a father, son,can working man, and hero.

As a person with Irish ancestory, you don't find many good good examples in pop culture that cast positive light on the irish. I am not only excited but proud of Colm.
