The Arbor District is one of the only neighborhoods in Carbondale without a park within walking distance of most of its residents. Local parks and playgrounds create healthier, happier, and smarter children, greener cities, and stronger neighborhoods. We urge the Carbondale City Council and the Carbondale Park District to work with the Arbor District Neighborhood Association to identify and acquire a suitable property, and to build and maintain a park within the Arbor District neighborhood.
