Christopher Livingston loved DayZ. He loved it so much he was willing to lay down his character’s life for good in order to experience and document the rush of true permadeath. Chris will never again grace the plains and towns of Chernarus because he believed in this survival sim so fervently, so absolutely, that he was inspired to do something incredible. He began a game with one rule: if he died during this playthrough, he would never play again.

Christopher Livingston's character died tragically from blood loss in the small town of Moglievka on the 21st of October 2014.

We, the undersigned, petition Bohemia Interactive and Dean Hall, creator of DayZ, to erect a monument, memorial or plaque in the place he died, to commemorate the loss of one of this game’s most wonderful denizens.

Chris may never wander Chernarus again. But let any who loved this brave figure greet each other as he liked to be greeted, by raising an open hand, not killing anyone, and asking: “Hey. Are you cool?”

This was such a legendary run. RIP Chris. He really understood the spirit of the game better than anyone else.
