This much needed project is funded by taxpayer dollars for the benefit of the students and families of Wharton. The full extent of the HISD-owned property is needed to ensure the efficient and successful implimentation of these funds. Our children's education is priority number one.

This is a common sense proposal that must be seriously considered. Adding to Montrose traffic and parking headaches, cutting down beautiful old trees, and denying space to the majority of kids does NOT make sense.

As an involved parent, it is frustrating to see the limitations the school has in parking, playground space, and physical education space. Allowing the school to maximize its space with upcoming growth demand will benefit the children in many ways. We hope this petition will be heard and the school will be able to utilize the much needed land space.

I strongly agree with this petition. The scholastic accolades this school is producing, with the current resources, are phenomenal. Allow the students and administrators to raise the bar even higher with the facilities they need and are entitled to.

Wharton K-8 Dual Language Academy is a phenomenal school. A new 21st century school building, utilizing all available space on our tight site, will help maximize the educational opportunities for our children as well as provide a beacon for the surrounding neighborhood. Please join me in signing this petition.

As a parent I support the recommendation of the Parent Advisory Committee. Educators and parents want the best for the kids. I know the Wharton community is dedicated to helping the Little League find a new field.

I am an educator and my child attends Wharton. She also plays for the Neartown Little League. I am in support of the school. Education must come first and we have very little space as it is. Recreation and Little League are important so I hope we can find a place for them to relocate. There has been a lot of misinformation floating around on this topic.

I am a neighborhood zoned parent to one lower and one middle school student at Wharton. Both our school and neighborhood are bursting at the seams. I support this petition for building the new school on every inch of HISD property possible on this square block. It is the responsible thing to do for public education and our growing community. Including the ball field in the new footprint will provide adequate outdoor play space and safe multi use areas for the middle school students to train for UIL sports. We will be able to provide safe bus zones and much needed parking - parking which currently is terribly disruptive to our business neighbors. As responsible builders and environmental neighbors, adding the field space will help us save old growth trees. And finally, our IB and magnet community at Wharton deserves a school facility to match the commitment and excellence of our students, teachers and staff. This is us being responsible neighbors.

This is a wonderful school. Teachers are very dedicated to giving the best learning experience to the students. My younger brother attends Wharton now. Having classes in both english and spanish is amazing!! The school does many projects. Please allow the kids to have there education and the chance for the school to expanded. Think of the kids mostly think of there education.
