A Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie is in the planning phase. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Anthony Stewart Head, James Marsters are among the cast members who will NOT be in the movie. Further, Joss Whedon will NOT be writing the movie. We the petitioners would like to remind those making the movie that it was not just a show about a character. It was the equal parts wit and wisdom of Joss Whedon, the performances of the original cast, and the personalities of those performers. To see a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie without these elements in place, you need only watch... the first Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. The millions of us who watched the television show, bought the series DVDs, and buy the Season 8 comic books from Dark Horse will happily line up to see a movie made the same way the show was made. But without the Joss, Sarah, Anthony, James, and the rest, the fans you are targeting will stay home en masse. Please correct this mistake instead of wasting your money on a faux Buffy movie that will not make money.
