I am currently drafting a formal letter to the state legislature regarding the criteria for state recognition. We need to define what qualifies a brewery as local before we can expect them to receive official designation.

The reach of this petition has hit a level that ensures local legislative offices are now monitoring our progress. I have sent the formal briefing package to the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services to request a meeting on current state branding policies.

How can you say a corporate conglomerate such as BudWeiser a Utah state beer? It's an insult to all the hard working small micro breweries around the state that produce amazing products.
Really? Budweiser. Really good beers are brewed in Utah with ingredients grown in Utah.
National and International Brands may have heavy influence, but there should not be any beer considered to be recognized as “State”, “National”, or otherwise. This is a marketing campaign at its finest and is unethical at its worst.
Dear Budweiser, You are not the state beer. Even if this is a joke. Which I guess I am partially joking. But seriously! It should be a local brewery beer that contributed most to the recovery of post-Olympic Utah. Yours truly, Anthony
I don't drink beer, but there are so many well loved local breweries that we've got to be able to do better than Bud.
Not our state beer!
Nope just nope

I am from Washington but have lived in Utah the past 10 years. I would have the same opinion for both states. If you want an official beer for any state then it should have its origins from that state. End of story
