Since we pay $13,500 for the Christmas lights why not leave them up ALL year long?? It is a reoccurring cost which could easily be turned into a NON reoccurring cost.. In 5 years we would save $67,500.... Sounds like the responsible thing to do...

The process needs more access for residents, more transparency, and exploration toward alternative thinking, not status quo.

The Xmas Decorations should go back to the way they have been taken care of. Could cut cost by going back to the 1 page Trail Blazer which had advertisers that paid for that. The Observer has advertisers and now inserts they are making money off of, so we should not have to pay at all. With regards to the pool parties, the majority should benefit not just a select few.

I believe the board is trying to do the best job that they can, and it can be a difficult job. But lets reduce the budget and cut back spending to the bare minimum. New letter $8,000, Xmas $13000, pool parties $5,000. The problem is people want their cake and eat it too.

I love my 'hood, but the dues are getting a bit ridiculous. Let's have an unbiased party go over the budget vs income - preferably one that will do so pro bono!

The Homeowners are in charge of the Association, not the other way around.

I agree. Christmas decoration costs and making the pool more self-sufficient are logical places to trim.

Still wondering why no projected income was listed except for dues.
