I agree, Universities of technology should inform students & plan ahead when planning to phase out one of the qualification and consider students...

They can't just Change phase out dates when they please they should have had a set date where anyone registering for ndip could have a reasonable chance to obtain a btech

It's unfair to scrap btech especially because students cannot get student loans for btech and therefore must work to be able to afford to do the course which creates a delay after qualifying with a National diploma. Also waiting lists at some universities are so long, even if you have applied in advance you won't be accepted before the cut off.

student who registered for a national diploma shouldn't have been allowed to do so, the Department of higher learning should consult with us before such decisions are made.

Please give us diploma students a chance for a degree

The phase out must be fair to all students who are still doing their diplomas and there must be a bridging course or credits given to those who have diplomas and want to do BEng.

The time available to complete the Btech degree needs to be extended to accommodate for students who have registered in 2016. This is only fair.

This news came as a shock to me being the parent of a student. We pay our fees & don’t get any freebies so it’s eztremely unfair that what our kids started to study cannot complete. When one decides to phase out one does it over a 5 year not over 2/3 yrs. It is unfortunate to say you are playing with innoncent lives. In other words they spent years studying & now cannot complete. Is the university going to fund another re ognised degree to our children who have paid for years????
