Technology definitely has it's advantages... using it to replace human care and educate future generations is not one of them. Especially when you are only doing it to cut cost. You get out what you put it. It is irresponsible. Don't cheap out.

I agree with these issues, especially the fact that students are forced to take courses video conferencing and have no alternative. Seems like they are paying tuition to be taught via u tube at the nations capital's Ottawa University. They need to have live teachers in the classrooms for all classes as the other campus's have.

The video conferencing courses are ridiculous. We pay the same tuition as students at the Ottawa U campus and we don't even get a live professor. There are instructors at Algonquin Pembroke who teach courses like Psychology to other programs so we should be able to take these classes on campus with an instructor in class.

Seeing as how much tuition has to be paid to both Algonquin and OttawaU, Pembroke students do not get the same resources as students studying in the main campus (who do not have to pay as much). Students only have a limited option for electives and they are only offered at late times or at late times. Some students who study here have to commute which makes it difficult to drive at night after a 3 hour long lecture. The university needs to revise how many electives they provide because having the choice between 2 teleconferencing or an online elective definitely isn't enough especially when many are not interested in the subject.

It would be at least an improvement to get a psychology professor at the college. It is mandatory and most students make it their elective second semester.

So many things need to be changed in order to give the BScN students in the collaborative program with Algonquin a better overall experience. Video conferencing courses are too late at night, no one can focus, there are always technical problems, and the elective options are very limited. We need more selection for the tuition that we pay.

The communication between the two schools needs to change. Waiting for textbooks for weeks because Ottawa University won't send them to the Algonquin bookstore. I've also got the runaround with financial aid in regards to bursaries available to Algonquin College students but not students in the BSCN program.

I pay the same in tuition as students who attend the Uottawa campus, but get a fraction of the elective choices. We need more electives and more interesting ones.

I agree 100% with this petition. I would love to see an improvement in possible course electives. Great initiative to whoever is taking the time to address these issues!
