Let Bryson residents conserve water with xeriscaping

I understand the desire to have all yards in the neighborhood maintain a similar aesthetic, but this should easily be possible while incorporating xeriscaping into the available options. 50% is a relative term based on yard size and doesn't actually address the root cause of the issue.

While I do not support not getting proper approval from the HOA, I do believe that water conservation is in the best interest of homeowners, the city and our communities.

I agree. Let them do the rocks in the yard.

I support conservation of water

I fully support any property owner to install xeriscaping that encompasses more than 50% of their front yard or backyard as long as some sort of guidelines are followed to ensure the aesthetic blends well within the Bryson neighborhood.

My husband and I (Travis Burnett) fully support water conservation through xeriscaping front yards! I think there is a way to have guidelines for attractive xeriscaping in Bryson.

Bryson ARC should grant blanket approval for xeriscaping. Between constant water restrictions, our high cost of water, and drought conditions, watering lawns is an expensive waste of precious resources. Also, all xeriscaping should be retroactively approved.

I would also be interested in using the rock landscaping. It definitely is more aesthetically appealing than dead grass.

The community should be progressive with the drought situation. Xeriscape and turf should be approved. Turf is approved in backyard, why not the front?

Anita and I walk by the Moores yard often on the way to the amenity center and it is easily one of the nicest in our area. Much more importantly, it is literally tragic how much water has to be wasted to keep our lawns going. Xeriscaping should be encouraged for the overall benefit of our community. I support this neighbor and this neighborhood having the option for professional quality xeriscape with prior plans & approval. As this neighbor has, minus the approval part. outside of the rules in place, there is no other logical reason to require them to replace & put down grass that will 100% certainty die. We’re currently in water restrictions where everyone in the neighborhoods grass will soon be crunch & brown; if it isn’t already. With water conservation a very high profile topic, this should definitely be an option for Bryson residents who choose this type of landscaping.

This is what’s best for the community and state of Texas. Water conservation is important and necessary for all communities. Grass is a waste of water resources.

I agree wholeheartedly. This is what responsible landscaping looks like in our climate! It is aesthetically pleasing and looks beautiful adjacent to the grassed common area.

All for beautiful xeriscape and water conservation. All of the new subdivisions with irrigation tying into the water supply was not fully thought out and is irresponsible on planning of our future.

This only makes sense given the climate we live in and current logistics present in Leander.

I support the option to xeriscape. Water is precious around here.

I think your lawn is very tasteful! We are constantly in a drought so we should do better to conserve water, especially because the city did not plan very well to keep up with the city growth and water needs.

Your yard looks great, I want to do it to our front yard as well!
