Dear IWU Class of 2024,

We have entered campus and begun a new chapter of our lives with an unfortunate mixture of emotions. We eagerly anticipate the future of our college years, yet we carry with us deep feelings of anxiety and dread as we wait for the status of our freshman year to unfold. What we need most right now are feelings of comfort, security, and certainty. Certainty is why I have a passion for student government, I want nothing more than to give my classmates ease of mind. I have spent the past 6 years of each year of school working in various forms of student government at my respective junior high and high schools. For my final three years of high school, I served as my class’ president of student council, working tirelessly to raise over $10,000 in class funds, as well as planning student events such as prom and homecoming. It would be an honor to represent Illinois Wesleyan’s Class of 2024 in the Student Senate, and I am confident a vote for me would be a vote for certainty.
