Technical width of the street should be reduced by the width of the sidewalk the city never provided. We have no choice but to walk on the street in competition with Fedex and multitudes of Amazon delivery vehicles who speed at will. There seems to be no parking enforcement or control. Cars have parked as long as 6 days and nights continuously in front of my house, which is the closest to Bloor Street and therefore the most popular for parking.

The net effect of street parking and no sidewalks has rendered Brule Gardens unsafe for residents, in particular those with small children in strollers and elderly using walkers and canes, who walk to Bloor street to get the subway or to shop at local stores. My sense from previous dealings with Councillor Perks on this issue is that he is not the least bit concerned by the safety issues expressed and will not be until there is a serious injury or fatality.

Permitted parking creates a danger for pedestrians, and renders clearing the street of snow nearly impossible due to the bottleneck effect of overnight parked cars, making it a single lane one-way for a long section, and rendering access hazardous in bad weather.

Street Permit parking has made an already difficult street to negotiate even more difficult. During construction on the street for water pipe replacement, residents could not get in or out of the neighbourhood until permitted parked cars were towed. This issue took a couple days to resolve. Permit parking has created very dangerous situations, endangering residents, young or old who walk on the street.

We have elderly residents as well as families with small children in strollers and the parking makes it dangerous for them to leave and enter their homes. The street may be technically wide enough for parking but it is NOT for safety of the residents. We have never had parking on this street for this very reason. Safety first!!!

The street is very dangerous to pedestrians especially during the winter months. Snow causes the parked cars further out into the street. Pedestrians have no choice but to walk in the centre of the road to get around all of the parked cars. Creating a dangerous situation.

On a day to day basis the street is unsafe for pedestrians as cars are parked on the one lane of the street leaving the pedestrians and cars, moving in and out of the area, to share the one remaining lane. In addition the 911 call this past weekend clearly demonstrated how unsafe the street is in the event of an emergency.
