Professor Emeritus Bruce Hannah - Pratt Institute Board of Trustees honors Bruce with new title

Bruce deserves to be Professor Emeritus; i graduated BID 1990; and i am grateful for his incredible support and influence on both my education and career.

Yes, I want to see Bruce Hannah as Professor Emeritus.

I will always been grateful to Bruce for all his support over the years. He was not only a great educator and mentor during my time at Pratt, but has always provided amazing support in my personal and professional life as well. He is very deserving of this honor and recognition. Pratt MID 2009

For all of my memories of Pratt and the design department, Bruce has always been a huge part of what makes the institute incredible. He is passionate about all he does and remains amazingly committed to making Pratt a world leader in design education. Bruce was the most important teacher I have ever had, and has continued to be a touchstone both for my personal life as well as professional. A well deserved honor.

I can't think of anyone else that deserves this honor more than Bruce Hannah. A visionary in design and tireless educator. He has been a guiding light for his students and an inspiration to his colleagues. Pratt B.Arch. 1984

MID 2015 // Bruce is a tireless supporter, a mentor, an educator, and a friend. I am consistently amazed (but not surprised) by his depth of knowledge, breadth of experience, and significance of impact that he has had on design and well, our modern community at large. An emeritus designation would be the least of what he deserves.

Bruce was an awesome inspiration

Bruce is why I went to Pratt. He has continued to be an inspiration and mentor in the years since I graduated from the program. I can't think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.

Passionate, poetic, and committed professor. I have never witnessed a professor pave a path for all ID students into the design world as singlehandedly as Bruce. He has acted as an unofficial agent for talent, and has been an under recognized 'career services' leader for the industrial design department, not only recommendeding/ discovering new talent to teach but helping place grads in high profile firms for the past forty years.

Mr. Hannah is one of those very few individuals who, while demonstrating extraordinary commitment as an educator, has equally inhabited that rarefied air of design talent for which Knoll is well known. I am grateful for having had the opportunity to work with him and honored to endorse this petition on his behalf. Bravo.

I always ask Pratt students when I meet them after they graduate who their favorite teacher was at Pratt. Everyone has a favortite, sometimes two. More often than not students' favorite teacher was Bruce. I worked for Bruce when he Chaired the department - he is an amazing teacher and great leader. He brought great energy to Pratt. CADRE which was created by Bruce was a perfect compliment to the 3 dimensional formgiving exercises. CADRE researched the functional aspects of a product as Rowena and Bill's work researched the formgiving. Unfortunately, CADRE was not to be at Pratt. And now Bruce is not at Pratt. His contributions to the school can not be enumerated in this small tribute. I hope he will continue to speak to students at Pratt through the teachers who he taught!

Brilliant, passionate, irreverent for talent. A few unique qualities of a creative mind. As a professor was delightful in his guidance.

Bruce has forever given Pratt many treasures .A gifted man who knows the true art of a gift!

Bruce Hannah was my professor in the Graduate Industrial Program in 1977. Later, he became our Chair, a colleague and of course, has been my friend for all those years. He's been a great teacher, exciting and effective Chairperson, and unusually devoted to Pratt for countless years. He deserves to be honored in any way possible!

Bruce is my colleague, my friend and my mentor. I learned so much from him. He put his life into Pratt and he should be recognized.
