We, the undersigned, call upon Ruth Simmons to publicly stand against SB 1070. This law is a violation of civil and political rights that encourages racial and ethnic profilin. As an institution that stands for the indiscriminate treatment of all human beings, regardless of race or ethnicity, it is imperative that President Ruth Simmons, as a representative of Brown, stand alongside M.E.Ch.A. de Brown and express public disapproval for SB 1070.
