ROGD must be studied. Don't cave into pressure from self-serving activists!

My daughter was completely convinced she was a boy, suddenly, for a year when she was 15/16. She desisted 2 years ago and is a happy, confident, lesbian young woman who looks back on that time with embarrassment. ROGD is ‘a thing’ and researchers should not be silenced and bullied like this.

This is important work which has the potential to help many children and young adults. Lisa Littman has my full support. Suppressing research due to political pushback is the antithesis of what a university should represent.

As a primary health care provider, I am shocked at the fast-track acceptance of experimental treatments on children with gender dysphoria. Children are receiving GNRH agonists, cross sex hormones, mastectomies, and hysterectomies. All of these treatments have life-long severe sequelae. With such serious issues at stake, we need as much scientific research as possible to ensure we are not inadvertently harming children. The silencing of research on the possible social contagion of transgenderism is troubling. Please do not capitulate to idealogues who want to shut down scientific discourse on this issue.

I am in full support of LGBTQ+ people and there right to equality without discrimination. I am in full support of this study and believe more studies should be done to fully understand what is happening. This is not a contradiction, it is too separate beliefs that I and others hold with respects to this issue. We must not let science and research be effected by politics, no matter where or who it comes from.

This contagion has to be researched. The medical transitioning is a murder under the umbrella of “ anti discrimination “. This outrageous outbreak of teenagers and young adults turning themselves into dependent on medical assistance to the rest of their lives is a social contagion! And the society that allows this commits crime against humanity!

It is very important that research critical of the transphenomenon should be funded, conducted and reported upon. This is a crucial issue of academic freedom and concerns a huge harm to the health and possibilities of young people.

This is a very important and timely study of a very serious contagion, mainly affecting females. As a concerned mother of a young female I give all my support to Dr. Lisa Littman f Brown University and her study on the topic of rapid onset gender dysphoria (ROGD).

Silencing studies that do not support your dogma is a symptom of fascism, IMO

Silencing researchers for political reasons is the exact opposite of what a university should be doing.

There should be no silencing in academic research!!! That is so dangerous!

This study is essential as the first of its kind. Academic research should not be suppressed because of lobbying by political activists on Twitter. This is an unprecedented assault on academic freedom and it is scary that a university and a science journal will cave to social media vigilantism.
