Suppressing research like this only masks the underlying mental health issues that exist in these children.

As a parent, this needs to get out there.

Truth matters. Children are being used as pawns of so called transgenders for their own purposes. Have some courage and get the truth out!

Similar to teen suicide contagion. The cultural across-the-board acceptance of body dismorphia as a civil right and way is self expression instead of a mental illness is dangerous and destructive to the individual as well as the culture at large.

No study should be silenced or prioritized over any other. If a study is so flawed, let it speak for itself.

PLOS ONE is guilty of the modern equivalent of bookburning. Subordinating science to LGBTQIA politics is harmful to both human welfare and science, itself.

Thank you for the courage to represent voices of reason within this debate and to stand up to oppression by a politically-motivated group. If kids health is truly the goal, then why wouldn't you want to view all sides including hearing from parents?

As a mother of a teen with ROGD we need not only to have any factual information shared, discussed and studied but we need the truth about the impact it has on the child and on the family.

Why do you choose to block the truth under the pressure from LGBTQ community? Science has no ideology.

If one cannot explore both sides of a scientific argument, be either side flawed or otherwise (and in this case I believe the limitations have been openly expressed by the author), our society has lost any semblance of free-thinking. At what point will we see that democratic rule comes not from the most-vocal, but from a majority that has the opportunity to view all sides?

It is absolutely vital to our freedom of speech and ability to think for ourselves, that we should be allowed to question and critically analyse any idelogy bullying it's way to the forefront of society.

You are hurting children. Deeply and permanently. So many are watching this and when the kids break and they will you will be held responsible.

We should not stand by whilst trans militants brow beat our culture and our children into conforming to their self justifying views without allowing honest analysis and exposure.

As an academic I find the attempted silencing of research a frightening new trend. Could this be related to the marketisation of higher education?

I am an academic working in the social sciences. Forty years ago I was an unhappy teenager convinced I was born in the wrong body. For academics' freedom to research and publish, and for young people's freedom to grow through the experience of gender dysphoria without medicalisation, I support this petition.

Gatekeeping I know, but it's necessary as it can be harmful to oneself if not thought through.

Academic Freedom shouldn't be suppressed due to internet bullying.
