This has happened to my child. My child had no signs of gender dysfunction, but did have undiagnosed autistic, anxiety, depression, and medical problems which led her to feel as an outcast. She was vulnerable due to her social deficits ( basic understanding of who she was compared to others). Now after being on social media, she thinks she must be a male inside a females body. Three other girls in her ‘group’ of four also now think they must be trans. This is doing terrible harm to her and threatens her future life. We need help from a therapist who can address the self loathing, anxiety, depression. We can’t find one who knows how to work with ‘aspen’ females’ in our area. PLEASE she needs REAL help!

I came home from work one night, my 12 year old daughter was sitting at her computer she turned and said to me "I know what I am". I asked what are you? A lesbian. This is where it started. Progressed to wanting to wear boy clothes, and getting her hair cut short. This turned into her saying she was transgender. The counselor from her middle school called me one day and told me to cut her hair because my daughter wanted it cut. and if i didn't, it would hurt her. Then I had to fight the school about using her real name instead of the one she made up. Everyone said you have to go along with it. I knew this was wrong . I took her to a gender therapist for about a year. I do have to mention my daughters dad was an alcoholic. in and out of hospitals. That's another story. Anyway he did pass away when our daughter was 14. I thought the therapist would help with all her issues, but felt nothing came of it. I don't think anything was discussed about growing up with an alcoholic. I find out now I took her to the wrong kind of therapist. I didn't know what else to do. So I just let her go on thinking she is transgender. Deep down in my heart I know this is not right. She started college last year. I was so proud of her! We talked every day. This year it's different. She would cut the conversation short, or say she is too busy. Or not even answer. When she cane home for Christmas 2021. She told the family she was getting testosterone injections. She said she was asked a few questions and the guy said yes your transgender. I know there is nothing I can do now she is an adult. I know she will just be a statistic in this transgender mess. There is nowhere to find help. Please pray for her.

Thank you for making your work openly available to parents. First day of High school upon the school asking my 13 yo daughter, what pronouns did she have and what name...because of work like yours I was able to dodge a huge bullet avoiding the trans affirming therapy. I went in 4 months not knowing the first thing about it, to crash courses, 5 books and 8 hours of the Stonewall org. No child born in the wrong body. Period.

While I was not a participant in Dr. Littman’s study, her findings described very closely our experience. Researchers like Dr. Littman must not be silenced to appease the demands of those that find her studies inconvenient.

It is highly important to encourage research even into sensitive subject areas. This includes research into detransition, desisting, social contagion, how pornography influences, and autogynephilia.

We are struggling with this issue right now with our 11 year old daughter. Her personality has been suddenly and nearly completely altered after exposure to an online LGBTQ group she became involved with outside of our knowledge on what we thought was a safe, educational coding website. Prior to this interaction, she showed no concerns regarding gender identity or sexuality. She now suddenly thinks she is “Trans”, and despite our willingness to listen with compassion, she has told us that she cannot trust us, that she is “not safe”, and that she hates the word “family”. She says that if we really loved her, we would use only specific pronouns, and allow her to change her name. We recently discovered that she has also been trying to convince a school friend that she is Trans as well, and that she has been referring to this girl online as her “partner”, despite the girl’s reluctance. We have tried to remain calm, considerate, and loving towards our daughter, but have been forced to cut off her internet access to protect her against these online influencers. We are now searching for a therapist to help us repair the psychological damage our daughter has endured thanks to this insidious movement that is targeting our kids.

Kids should be able to be kids and not pushed into thinking they might be the opposite sex. After going through puberty, like myself, one usually grows into who you’re meant to be if not Coerced but supported. Make and female behavior is not always black and white.

This is hugely important for our understanding of the impacts of social media and peer pressure on ALL fronts, but especially important here where the implication for the wellbeing of children is so dire. Thank You!

As a detransitioned woman who began a gender transition to male at the age of 14 and later detransitioned at 21, after some time on testosterone and around 7 years living as the opposite gender - I stand firmly behind Dr. Littman and her unbiased, informative research which cannot and should not be censored. We cannot continue to silence those who seek to bring these very real truths to light; this is not a political stance, divided by left or right, but an informative piece that can positively impact the human rights of many affected. We must be more informed about the reality of GD and Dr. Littman's work is the perfect start to this conversation. I support every truth listed in this research because, simply put, my life story is a result of this very real thing happening to children everywhere.
