Radical and irreversible intervention in the development of a young person is potentially very dangerous, and more study is required to see if it is justified.

To abandon intellectual integrity and sincere inquiry for political correctness is behavior to be expected from second rate institutions.

Shame on the medical community and the schools for not fighting for the kids’ rights and going along with the mutilation fantasies of the gory plastic surgery industry. I’m a liberal and is pro LGBT rights but this is an attack on the innocence of kids, sanctioned by the state.

The medical community is biased and under the guise of liberty, promoting monstrosities. This research should be circulated widely, shame on Brown university for not standing by the kids and preventing abuse.

The push for young people to "go trans" is something that even the LGBT community has noticed. Please look beyond the "perspectives" of a minority of people who do not speak for us all, and let science do science. For some other LGBT voices and an example of how this all works: https://youtu.be/juWcalDWveQ

I'm tired of disingenuous mentally ill bullies. This needs to stop. Especially if we want to keep science scientific.

It's a peer reviewed article, such as was drilled into my head in grad school that I had to use as the only real "citable" source!

I suggest you read The Coddling of the American Mind, by Lukianoff and Haidt. Basic CBT teaches that feelings are not reality, and knowledge is gained from critically questioning phenomena. Brown University has caved to pressure to affirm feelings instead encouraging critical thinking.

Dr Quentin Van Meter gives a helpful overview of the medical basis of transgender treatment - it is based only upon unscientific and abusive experimentation on children. The activists are doing a good job of silencing him.... The good research shows that most gender confused children and young people allowed to go through natural puberty will align with their biological sex by adulthood. There is NO justification or evidence to show that puberty blockers, hormones and disfiguring surgery help. This is a decision that must be left until a person is an adult, a decision for them, NOT THE ACTIVISTS masquerading as medical doctors or university researchers. (As an aside, we need to fight the concept of a 'mature minor' - anyone with a teen knows the 2 words are incompatible!)

Brown used to be an actual university. Eternal shame on them now.

Please never disable or discount this vitally important research. So many children are being irrevocably hurt.

My daughter (and 2 of her friends) are going through this right now. None of them have researched the health effects of these transition drugs. Teens have no idea about what is in their long term health. Harming healthy bodies makes no sense, this is very scary we need MORE information not less.

Academic freedom and scientific inquiry should not be constricted by those who disagree with results. The correct way to disagree with scientific results is to question methodology, mount counter experiments and to discuss in the spirit of free inquiry. Brown University should therefore stand by and support the efforts of Dr. Lisa Littman and her research.

LGBT supporters also support this truth. Stop medicating and mutilating children. Children should not self diagnose. Was nothing learned from the ADHD trend? I’m a parent and the results are my life 100%.

Saddened and shocked by the latest suppression of objective research that looks at trans issues objectively, rather than from an overtly pro-trans angle.
Put the research back online and encourage more of it.

This research is important and I want the researcher to know that there are people who stand behind her.
