#NotMyBTHS. I was blessed to have attended BTHS when the demographic was far more racially and ethnically balanced. A real change regarding this current situation at Tech means recruiting promising JHS students of color (Black and Latino) across the city.

I hope that this racism quickly ends. People deserve to have the best 4 years of their life in high school, and they shouldn't have to deal with such bigotry.

Class of '86 It wasn't until I began teaching outside of NY that I was able to appreciate the greatest lesson I learned at Tech: I am not afraid of anyone's skin or dress, or eye shape. I don't over correct black students because they scare me and I see the faces of friends I have loved for decades in Sandra Bland and Eric Garner. Tech humanized me in a way only living and learning and playing with those who resemble the faces of the world can do. Don't cheat yourselves out of growing your hearts and minds.

I am an alumna, Class of 86' Industrial Design.
One of the things I learned when I attended Tech is respect for my classmates of other races, ethnicities and religions. I am still friends with many of those people.
It is abhorrent what it is taking place among the current student body. How dare these children sully our school with racism?! How dare they question their classmates right to be there?
This is not the Tech that I know and love; and these entities need to be purged

I am not a student of brooklyn tech however I believe that there needs to be an end to this racism that my fellow people of color are facing on a day to day basis. How can one learn to there best of their ability when there is conflict in their environment?
