For someone that has to drive an hour each way to school, by having lecture in campus I am now losing 10 hours a week that I once was studying to spending time driving back in forth to campus. I believe that most students are benefitting more from online lectures because we, as the students at home, can set up our own learning environments that are most beneficial for us. Especially with having a four hour lecture, spending time in a classroom with uncomfortable chairs and with other students on their computers doing various tasks is extremely distracting. Because of this distraction my education is being hindered drastically. I vote for lectures online so we can have a better school/work/life balance. Nursing school is extremely difficult and if we are forced to spend ample time commuting we are taking that time from other aspects from our life which puts our mental health in jeopardy. Please consider our petition.

I think I have benefitted highly from having courses being online such as being able to rewatch recordings etc (really helps me to prepare for my tests). I also think keeping us in the online format helps to reduce the spread.

Being online helps maximize my time, allows me to go back to old recordings, and my learning experience is overall better with lectures online.

I live in Buckeye and I agree with many that online format can be beneficial towards productivity and help increase my study times. Along with this, gas is not cheap and it can help financially as well as environmentally.

Online lectures have been beneficial for me since I live farther away from the school and I would be able to use the extra time driving towards extra studying and overall increase in productivity.

It would also be environmentally friendly due to less greenhouse gas emissions

I feel as though lectures should stay online. I can concentrate more in my own environment. It would be a huge hassle to drive 45 minutes to school as well and to find time in between classes.

Staying in our online lecture formate will reduce the spread of covid and sickness in general. I have personally witnessed multiple students who continue to show up on campus even if they are sick in fear of losing credit/ not being able to make up the in person time. I also feel we greatly benefit from being able to review our online recorded lectures multiple times. This helps our exam grades tremendously. I believe it would be a disservice to our safety and exam scores to go on campus.

I think it is in the students’ best interests to keep our learning format consistent and continue online lectures. We have worked hard to adapt to the ever-changing online format, such as familiarizing ourselves with Canvas, and it would be ideal to have one semester that didn’t involve a tremendous change. We all learn well through participating in lectures and viewing the recordings afterwards, and we have developed a routine for attending classes while balancing our jobs and families. Drastically changing to in-person format for our last semester when we have so much to prepare for as far as finishing up school, studying for the NCLEX, and applying for jobs, would be counteractive. Besides this, the drive is very long for some of us, and our lectures do not involve hands-on learning so our physical presence is not critical to learning the information.

Online lecture is best for me at this moment. For the safety of those in my household and to cut expenses on my gas bill

I would like to keep lectures online. I live in Surprise and I have really enjoyed the online lectures. I am all for in-person labs and simulations, but personally in-person lecture would have more cons than pros. Thank you!
