I personally believe having a week off to relax defeats the purpose of a reading week. Also consider the students that do not get reading weeks, for example on the Physics course, perhaps that's more of an issue.

I'm so stressed, and have 2 essays due and a coursework project within two weeks of each other, with no time off lectures - how am I supposed to do well with no reading week?

We should have the same time that other students have.

it's quite nice having a week off if you finish exams really late. correct me if i'm wrong, but i think having a week off kind of defeats the purpose of a "reading week"...

Language students don't have exams at the beginning of the year so the addition of the reading week at the end of this period is an unnecessarily large break; moving it to a later time would be more appropriate.

As a parent I agree with the request to move the reading week, as it was unhelpful just after the Christmas break.

Year 1 French Student with no January exams, reading week was unproductive immediately after the Christmas holidays.
