Ellen Degeneres Help Bring Lolita Home
This is a petition to get Ellen Degeneres' attention about Lolita's situation. Ellen is an advocate of animals and she may be willing to help if we can get enough signatures to get her attention. This petition is to get Lolita the orca at the Miami Seaquarium retired to her home waters off the west coast of WA State, and back home with her family. She now resides (for the past 40 years) in the smallest orca tank in the United States and maybe even the world. She has no other orca companions, has no shade from the hot Miami sun, and her tank is in awful shape. She belongs to L-Pod of the southern resident orca community. Lolita was taken away from her family in the Penn Cove orca capture in the 1970's. Lolita's mother and immediate family members are still alive and there is a retirement plan already in place for her. The retirement plan can be found on Orca Networks website. All we need is the Miami Seaquarium owner Andrew Hertz to Allow her to retire before it is too late. Please help us Ellen. Lolita needs her family, companionship, and room to swim and be an orca again. Something she hasn't been able to enjoy in a very long time.
