If current CEO Timothy Vanderhook made adjustments and gave users the ability to sign up for MySpace and have the original 1.0 profile layout, along with the same customizable options that users were given, users would flock back to using MySpace and it would easily become the #1 website like it was in 2008.

I was one of the first people to sign up for MySpace back in late 2003 when it first came out. When everyone left to Facebook I stayed loyal till the end. It wasn't until January of 2011 when I finally closed my account. When they changed the layout to black and made all those changes. I got confused and left for Facebook. I miss the old MySpace bring it back.

I wondered onto Myspace just this week and discovered all my old messages vanished! I dated my now current boyfriend when I first joined myspace back in 2009 and wanted to see what we said to each other for laughs and giggles. We were crazy in love back then and have been together for 3 years as of now! Its really disheartening to see all of my profile gone and all of my memories. Lets hope they get some sense and revert back to the previous versions style of Myspace and add on some extra features whilst keeping its former integrity. I am very disappointed in the way that the previous company investors let this once great social network deteriorate so badly. Myspace was once the greatest social network platform on the planet, bigger and better than Facebook. Its extremely bad business to let such a great company fall to its knees in this way, in fact its shocking. If Time Inc are reading this they should understand this fact.... If you bring back Myspace and build it based up its most successful versions with some added new features it will most definitely in due time with hard work be a massive success again. Whats needed is a company who is passionate about music and social networking and who wants to bring back this once great company to its former glory. Myspace should not be looked on as a money spinner but more of a project to bring it back to life. If you focus less on profits and more on creating a great social network then for sure it will flourish again.... The original MySpace needs to come back. The new MySpace is nice looking but lacks the character it's predecessor had. When clicking on "connections" , all you see are images no names. A little common sense goes a long way. Even reimagining the new MySpace with some of the old components would be better than keeping it the way it is.

At first I was told we could still access the old profile. Then, without being given a date of when access would end, they changed over and deleted the old MySpace. Where did my saved messages and comments go that were from people I wanted to keep? Information doesn't disappear. You have it. Bring it back. Copying others won't get you people. People were on MySpace because it was MySpace. Now it is nothing but an unsuccessful amalgamation of various ideas patched together. Boo and shame on you.

I haven't been on MySpace in years, the reason I hate it now. I loved that instead of sharing we posted comments and graphics on each other's page and if our friend wanted to see what was going on with a friend they had to visit our page, greeted by music, photo slide and a beautiful layout.

bring it back. facebook is and always has been ordinary, contemporary, highly prone to perpetuate a collectivist user environment due to it's lack of an individual-based platform (you conform to facebook, it doesn't conform to you) such as we had in myspace back in say, 2007, where you could run your own code in div overlays, add music players with custom skins and stream from linked audio files, you name it, one could get as creative as possible. the issue though however is that as society became socially dumbed down and the suibversion increased, the overall platforms of social media changed from focusing on individual priority, to group ideology and one size fits all became the thing, which is why sites like twitter and facebook grew in popularity. but hopefully now that 8 dismal years of degeneracy will reverse itself and the market will shift and appeal more to the individualist, but i doubt it. what sells is big groups of people all using your product, and all subverted by it, so that your competition doesn't have an edge that will be worth the migration. add that to the fact that the general public generally aren't interested or just not intelligent enough to simply set up a myspace profile that they can customize entirely to represent themselves. most people are fine just being another brick in the wall, most don't even know any difference if they are young enough, and if they are, they will barely remember the opld myspace, from back in the day when people thought for themselves.

I am petitioning to have the original myspace layout back. I preferred the layout of 2007 where I could design my own custom themes and music and I could easily read posts from my friends. As a graphic designer myself I find the new layout too busy and difficult to read and navigate. because of this change I have moved to using Facebook. If myspace would allow the previous layout to be available I would gladly go back to using Myspace as it was more user friendly. Then new layout is too distracting and I hate it as well as just about everyone I know. Please bring back the easier to view Myspace or prepare to lose all Myspace users to competition social media sights. The idea of designing a social media website is to make it simple to view and navigate, not overwhelm the user into not wanting to continue at all. Word of advice, I would defintely fire your web design team and get someone who actually knows what they are doing and actually has design knowledge. Thanks, Rachel

I absolutely agree with the opinion of this petition. My favorite part about MySpace was the ability to customize every single aspect of the page (including the photo album and blog area). This is why I used MySpace for years. At this point, I don't really even get on the site at all since it changed. There's no reason to now. I'm not a fan of having everyone being able to like my posts or having the ability to comment on them. Really, I didn't care who likes the posts made. To me, that feels like another popularity contest. Posts were supposed to be about opening up conversation between friends and family. Also, I loved the ability to post gif type pictures either as the profile picture, in your albums, and on your profile itself. I don't want to be the same as everyone else. I want originality. I want the ability to be unique.

If they went back to the classic, with modernized security, privacy and a new mobile version, I would definitely start using MySpace again and abandon Facebook. My Space had customizable profiles, profile songs, outstanding music player, no political bias. It looked cooler and was overall just... cooler. The owners need to bring it back and kill Facebook. Add a newsfeed and allow each individual to select what news outlets they want to see, instead of having news chosen for them like FB does. I think everyone that has been born between 1988 and 1994 at the very least would use myspace again if it switched back to what it was in the beginning when we were kids. It was amazing and we loved it. It would be a nice nostalgia thing. It should definitely be switched back and I don;t think there is a single person that used it back then who doesn't agree. I have talked about this before with people and everyone says they'd use it again if it switched back. I mean c'mon how many people honestly use4 it since it was switched like no one. It's not used like this so why not switch it to what it was when it was popular and advertise it like crazy.
