There is a practical reason to reintroduce the cardboard strip: improved rigidity during transportation. It also makes an attractive bookmark or a model tin roof for the train station in a toy train set.

The loss of the cardboard tray has been a constant problem for me through out my life. I feel tormented by the fact that it used to be reassuring knowing that your bar used to be protected until you were ready to eat it,when taking a picnic. I am also devastated about the lack of cherry Bounty.

In removing the cardboard strip from the Bounty Bar, Mars woefully miscalculated the tensile strength of the wrapper to provide the required structural support for the confectionery content.
Unlike the surgically enhanced chanteuse Cher, they can turn back time, and that time would be correct o'clock.
