So it came to me in a dream: Fall Out Boy back together again, performing live on stage in front of millions of their fans...including me in the front row. I have been a lover of their music ever since I've heard of them. Growing up, I've had many troubles in learning to express myself; but eventually with the help of their music, I found myself becoming a Fall Out Girl, head banging to Dead On Arrival, screaming Saturday to the top of my lungs, and dancing to A Little Less 16 Candles, A Little More Touch Me atleast 5 times a day. Going through my teenage, punky, rebellious phases, I smashed my iPod playlists to all of their albums, making each of their songs a tone to set my every mood. Looking back on all the good and bad times of my younger years in life, I now appreciate the band greatly for having songs that got me through alot. I, like many FOB girl fans, went through a HUGE infatuation phase with Pete! With literally hundreds of photos and posters of him and the band plastering my room walls, I was always questioned why I particularly had such great taste in the band. I'd never really know what to say besides "because they're f***ing awesome!!!" But now, I realize that with the angelic voice of Patrick and the life changing lyrics hidden in each song, I was inadvertantly growing a bigger heart that perhaps had a special place for Fall Out Boy. When I was 15 years old, I went and had a small tattoo of the Clandestine Heart Bat on my left wrist done to "secretly" make myself a dedicated fan. After my mom found out and wanted to ban everything and anything that had to do with the band out of my house, I was even at a more "punk" edge to want to hype them up even more. I remember for atleast a week straight I quoted song lyrics as responses of questions my mom would ask me. HAHAHAHA it irritated the hell out of her. But I stayed talking about them in nearly every conversation, wearing all their shirts I bought from Hot Topic under my school uniform, and even singing their tunes in class. I remember them coming to my home town of Sacramento to the same building of where I'd have my graduation ceremony. I couldnt go of course, for always being in trouble. But on that day, I stood outside of the Memorial Auditorium, and rocked out like a true fan, until I was told to leave of course. My point of bringing up all of my personal stories is that I know now that I probably wasnt alone. There are still millions of FOB fans still waiting for them to make a comeback. Of course, with the Black Cards, The Damned Things, and Patrick's Solo project going on, the members are currently busy focusing on where they are now. But if they only knew how IMPORTANT they are to people like me, they would understand that Believers Never Die!!! I'm a fan of your music, Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Andrew Hurley, and Joe Trohman. And everyone who signs this petition misses you, and wants you to show that Punk isnt dead. Please come back, Fall Out Boy... I truly love you, and thank you for being such a big part of my childhood. Jade Ashley Mapp December 27, 2010
