Evan is the main reason I watch CBC. Perhaps he should be chastised or fined, but to fire him? That's a knee jerk reaction.

He is my favourite political commentator and the country needs him.

The firing of Evan Solomon seems overly harsh to me. The high calibre and integrity of his work has not been comprised, in my option, and yes, that's only my opinion. But other opinions ought to have taken into consideration before taking this drastic step of firing.

Evan is one of the best we have on cbc reporting politics maybe the cbc and government needs to look in their own backyards before they make judgement

I always look forward to watching Evan Solomon and Power and Politics each day. I think his termination is harsh and unjust and, certainly, I will no longer be a fan of CBC. Will watch CTV "The House" instead.

Always enjoyed his handling of the show. Very intelligent, asking the right questions. Show will suffer without him.

I think that Evan Solomon was upfront with the CBC about this issue - if they had concerns, they should have worked through it with him. Is this the government pushing at people that ask the questions we all want to ask?

wow, he was never scared to ask the questions, and always treated those who were on the seat with respect, wow

fail to see this as a conflict of interests - Solomon too outspoken for Cons.

How did he damage the viewers? I am missing something here. He will not be easily replaced. This is a bad day for Canadian democracy.

Quite frankly I don't even care if Evan was able to make more art sales due to the fact he knew and met a plethora of rich politicians and the like due to his work. Aside from the fact that I don't find this to be a conflict... even if I did, I wouldn't care to the point of wanting one of the ONLY talented and intellectual news anchors CBC has to be fired. Evan has been one of the few anchors I've seen that on regular occasion refuses to swallow the harper-talking-points from MPs when they don't answer his direct questions, that and that alone should keep him on the air. ... ...Interesting that all the what I would call the "Obviously Against Harper" CBC crew have all been slowly loosing their jobs since the last big budget cut from the feds, I truly hope and believe there is no true correlation, but after a decade of this gouvernement, my inner tinfoil hat wearing sceptic side is slowly starting to seem less and less crazy.

Evan Solomon is the BEST anchor the CBC has. His brokering of "art" has NOTHING to do with his job and quite frankly is NONE of the CBC's business. WHY is Amanda Lang still employed when she was SLEEPING with a Banker??

Does not seem like a conflict of interest to me.
