Are you tired of walking all the way to Green Mart or Plaid Pantry just for a sip of the sweet, sweet energy a Guayaki Yerba Mate provides? With only 14 grams of sugar, 60 calories and 150 milligrams of naturally occurring caffeine per serving, this magical drink has the strength of coffee and the health benefits of tea.
What we currently have in our second floor vending machine is trash. Vitamin Water (Acai Flavor) contains a whopping amount of sugar, 32 grams per serving! Mountain Dew Kickstart contains 20 grams of sugar and has 80 calories per serving, which is just downright unhealthy for young, sprouting minds.
High fructose corn syrup happens to be the second ingredient on both Vitamin Water and Mountain Dew labels, meaning it is one of the most prominent ingredients in the drink. Concentrated corn syrup can lead to weight gain, type 2 diabetes and high triglyceride levels, all of which can boost your risk of heart disease.
Do we really want these seemingly healthy yet deceiving drinks being provided to the students of Cleveland High School? Please sign this petition in the fight to bring the heavenly Yerba Mate to our school vending machine.

Seeing this grow makes me think my morning trek to the store for a drink might actually end soon. It is wild to see so many of you tired of the junk we are currently stuck with in those machines.
