Bring the Rolling Stones back to London, Ontario

Dear Keith, Mick, Charlie and Ronnie:

I’m sure Keith, Mick and Charlie remember playing, or attempting to pay, a concert at the old Treasure Island Gardens in London, Ontario back in April 1965. About 15 minutes into the show the cops pulled the plug fearing a riot. After they cut the power you were ushered off stage and the fans indeed did riot, not because of the music, the riot was due to the cops pulling the plug. Mick promised the band would return to London to play but we have yet to see you.

The closest your loyal fans here in London have gotten to a return show was when the film The Stones at The Max was brought to London but the projector screwed up before the show even got started and it too was cancelled. The promoters said the show would return at a later date, a promise we had heard before, but over a decade later we still have not seen it here in London. Again we here in London got cheated out of a Stones show due to circumstances beyond our control.

We now have a modern, multi-purpose venue with great acoustics in London which, in 2010, was named best venue in Canada with a capacity of more than 8,000 seats. It would be the perfect place to see The Rolling Stones play their promised return concert.

It would be great if the Stones returned to London to play a concert that was cancelled on one of the band’s first tours during what could be one of your last tours.
