This project should not go through without a public referendum. The community should have the desicion as to whether this is the direction that they want for the town. The taxpayers should be making this decision not counsel

Plain stupid to reduce the speed in Chase for golf carts, like really? No one will travel that speed, most will go the Trans Canada, how in Sam scratch will that benefit Chase? Accidents galore is what we see as citizens here since '93!! Village really needs to rethink this idea!!

I may not live in Chase but I do own a business there. I believe this golf cart idea should have had way more exposure to the citizens and their thoughts taken into consideration before it was implemented.

I do not think it is a terrible idea to have golf carts allowed on the streets. I just think that the council has gone a little overboard with the 30 km speed zone. I think a good solution would be that a golf cart can do 30 km on designated roads only . I also think that the council should put more effort in supporting local businesses and spending the tax payers money and not rely on tourism to keep this town alive. Chase hasn't been a tourism town for years.

I don't even live there anymore but visit family on a regular basis...this is ridiculous...people from out of town will get tickets constantly and you will always get that one driver who always goes 10 under no matter want who will just cause more problems...sigh...I really hope the town council rethinks this.

Just another joke. It's almost become comedy. What was the expense to taxpayers to put stop sign up and a few months later take signs down. Why not experiment with tax payers money. It's nice to see someone actually stand up and challenge our councillors and try and make them accountable. My guess is majority of council members golf. It's a no brainer this was a "because we can" issue not for tourism. Get real Chase is not and never will be a tourist town. That ship has sailed. We need to focus on our locals and make it more feasible to operate businesses. The VOC needs to get a grip on outrageous spending and start making sensible decisions. I don't mind the golf carts at all or really why not post 2 seperate speed limits one for cars and one for carts. I bet if it was food carts or something else benificial they would find so many hoops to jump through it would not be worthwhile. Come on councillors how about promoting local business rather than load the town with thousands of dollars in flowers for the tourist to enjoy for a month or two. I would love to see a VOC hire and employ local petition.

I have to agree with Alison, also feel this could be unsafe for a lot of people in the community.

I'm sorry I just don't see how this project is going to improve my community, nor can I see how this will promote tourism. And to inconvenience majority of the population just doesn't make any sense to me.

The speed limit being dropped down to 30 kmph for a handful of golf carts that may be on the road is rediculous. Yes the whole golf cart thing is a pilot project from the government. But did our village council and mayor really think this through before excepting to do it??? It needs to be stopped before it even starts.

bad idea to limit the speed limit! Who is going to enforce them? Cant be done now in town!!! Is this another cash grab? I don't think it is Todd Stone as much as our town council !! How about that town leaders??? I don't think you know how to lead.

Terrible idea......should do something more suited for the younger generation if that is what this town wants is to draw younger families here........because there is not alot for younger people to do or to draw the younger ones here

Stupid to have all roads 30km/hr all year for the handful of people who are going to actually drive these stupid things

I have no objection to designated routes for the carts, I do stongly object to all roads in Chase with a posted speed of 30 km particularly when the carts will likely not be used in inclement weather. I do live in Chase full time, I do vote and my vote helps to elect village council.
