The news is official and the FBI headquarters is coming to Springfield. I am genuinely stunned by the outcome and I know this belongs entirely to the community that backed this from the start.

As a member of the Greater Springfield community, I believe the FBI should relocate its headquarters to the GSA warehouse site in Springfield, Virginia.
Northern Virginia and the Greater Springfield area is a thriving community that offers many advantages over its competitors. Within a stone’s throw of the Franconia-Springfield Metro station, I-95, I-495, I-395 and the Franconia-Springfield Parkway, the GSA site is the perfect location for commuters traveling from any direction. With the completion of the Springfield Town Center and apartment and townhome communities surrounding the site, there is a unique ability for employees to live, work and play, if they choose. In addition to close proximity to transportation and business infrastructure, the FBI's relocation to Springfield is fully supported by local businesses, civic associations, and community leaders.
Simply stated, the GSA warehouse site is the perfect location for the FBI headquarters and I am fully supportive of the efforts to bring it to Springfield, Virginia.

The traffic is already bad but this would finally bring some real jobs to the area. Long overdue!

Springfield is the obvious choice. Everything is right here and the metro access is perfect for everyone coming from DC.
The location is great right by the highway. Makes way more sense than anywhere else they are looking.
