Education is a must for cyclists, motorists and police. Safety first. Neither motorists nor cyclists own the road. Police officers should also learn the law in regard to cycling. Let's all work together.

Punishment for hitting a cyclist should be more strict. Most get a slap on the wrist, while the cyclist is suffering for weeks, months and even years afterwards - if they were lucky to survive!

I have lost two cycling friends killed by motorit's. I am a 25 year veteran cyclist myself and cannot count the number of times car and especially truck mirrors have come within an inch of my helmet and that is with me staying as far to the right as possible. This new law must be put in place and ENFORCED like it is in many other states. Texas has lost way too many cyclist because of uniformed, u caring motorist.
