Sophie is finally heading back to the Mizikar family. I am just a person who started a page but you all are the ones who turned this around and brought her home. Please keep an eye on her transition back to her family while we take a moment to breathe.

Make our voices heard! Help get the awareness out there so this doesn't happen again. Sophie is a German Sheppard, she belongs to the Mizikar family. While they were on vacation she ran away. Sophie was being cared for by a close family member. The family didn't find out until they came home that anything happened. Sophie was picked up and kept at the Westmoreland Humane Society. Where their efforts to find the family fell short. H.S then put Sophie up for adoption and gave her to another family. They broke the hearts of a entire family. They are trying everything possible to get her back. Show your support and let's Bring Sophie Back!!!

I opened the page tonight and saw five hundred signatures which is honestly more than I ever imagined. This is happening because you cared enough to click and help a family get their dog back. I am just blown away by your kindness.

The same thing happened to me when my kids were small but the person who adopted our dog was gracious enough to return him to the humane society. He said when he saw how happy we all were (including our dog) he knew he did the right thing.
Prayers for everyone. I can't even imagine what this family is going through. It would breal my heart if I lost my gsd. Our fogs are our babies and our world. Hopefully this baby will be reunited with their real family. And prayers to the family that adopted their baby not knowing.
Sophie was chipped. They adopted her out without returning the numerous calls made by the contact on the chipped. At the time of the adoption the HS had NO idea that the contact on the chip was the previous owner. They needed to return the phones calls.
I just hope the couple who adopted Sophie could put themselves in the place of the family who has lost there beloved pet. Especially with children who are missing there family pet. There are other dogs who would love to be adopted who have no families.
This is awful, the dog was chipped and should have been returned to the rightful owner, we get pets chipped so they can be returned home, someone needs to be held responsible for this mess up and Sophie needs returned immediately to her real owner !!

I am faced with the same situation, my German Shepherd was taking from my home on Thanksgiving day an I was home too her collar off to give her a bath an within 15 mind she was gone.. from the Donegal Area

Hold time should be extended for a microchipped dog and every effort made to help her return to her owners. Giving away and /or selling someone's much loved family pet is wrong. Especially since the energy contacted them before the adoption Date!
