I’ve watched prof bring nothing but the best to the ocean since he started. I marched 2005 from New Orleans I got to summer band before Katrina and after Katrina prof and the ocean kept me focused on school and music when there was a million other things I could’ve been doing.

As an educator, we use our personal life experiences to connect with our students. Teaching is not just “material” base. Teaching is also the nurturing and kindling of not just the mind but spirit and moral as well. If we are to be punished for making those connections with our students then we won’t effectively be able to achieve our goal.

Prof Gibson has been with the ocean for many years. I’ve known him since I was a little boy. My dad used to come up to the school and watch the ocean soul perform against all kinds of other bands. It was always a dream for me to be under his direction one day. In 2014, that dream came true. It was an honor being apart of prof Gibson’s direction. Now we need to bring him back !!!!
