This man help me to become a better student and develop into man. I would of never achieved my goal of graduating college without his guidance and consistent motivation. This man has uplifted the culture and community in Houston and New Orleans, probably various other places but no place as important as my house in Texas.

Professor Gibson is a great person. I like many of the students who have marched in the Ocean can testify to his long hours, undying love for the organization, even the fact that he has come out of his own pocket to help students with college expenses. This man even helped organize, for the first time ever, a city wide all star band(not just for children) for the city of Houston. Like in many other cities, various alum were able to come together and join in their passions for marching band under the banner of their hometown. I sincerely hope the university is able to reconcile this issue.

Prof. Gip has been a beacon in my life since i came to texas southern. There’s no reason for his firing. His firing was unjustified and that man literally would give his life and limb just to make sure everyone is ok. How can you treat a man so wrong as humble as he is when he took freshmen band students in from out of state when there was no housing left on campus....this man gave his blood, sweat and tears for the ocean since he been there and to take this man’s dream when he was just into continuing and creating a better image for the band is just ridiculous. #LeeEra #GipEra

Too many educators get into unwinnable situations like this and one person tries to pull their muscle and clout to hurt the educator.
