This petition is in support of the nomination of Dr. Jason M. Greenfield, MD to the position of Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. This department is not currently led by a physician and perhaps that is a reason why our healthcare system continues to fail the American people.

Dr. Greenfield is non-partisan, belonging to neither the Democrat or Republican Party. However, he brings a diverse background including both research and clinical experience in private and academic settings. He is a strong proponent of drastic reform of the ACA while maintaining the measures that have moved us forward such as the elimination of pre-existing condition exemptions.

His background is in men's health but also has exposure to women's health issues. He believes these two areas should be a major focus moving forward and are intimately connected to one another.

He believes all Americans have a right to access to healthcare and our government has a responsibility to enable this.

He believes in the right of the individual to determine what healthcare services they wish to utilize and not to interfere with this right in others.

He believes our healthcare system should be a system of disease prevention and well as treatment.

He is foremost a proponent of SCIENCE and believes it should be the primary factor in deciding practice AND policy.

Dr. Ben Carson, who admits he has no experience in running a federal agency, has been considered for this position. Our president elect himself has no experience in politics. If change is truly what this nation needs, consider someone quite different than the status quo.
