We, the parents of Roosevelt Alexander Elementary, are coming together to show our strong support for bringing Paul back to RAE.

Recently, a concern was raised regarding Paul’s friendly interactions with students, which led to a formal review. After looking into the situation by Katy ISD, he was cleared of any wrongdoing. Since when a hug is a crime! However, despite this, he is no longer allowed to return to RAE due to district policies, and has been reassigned elsewhere—against his wishes and without the opportunity to return to the school community he cares deeply about.

For many of us, this has been difficult to understand, especially given the overwhelmingly positive experiences our children have had with him.

Paul has been more than just a member of the school staff—he has been a trusted, caring, and positive presence in our children’s daily lives. So many of our kids feel comfortable going to him for help, encouragement, or simply a smile during their day.

He has a natural ability to connect with students in a way that makes them feel safe, seen, and supported. For many families, including my own, he has made a lasting impact. Our children speak about him with genuine affection and trust, which says everything about the kind of person he is.

He consistently shows kindness, patience, and a level of care that goes beyond expectations. His presence has helped create a warm and supportive environment in RAE that many families truly value.

We are sharing this petition not out of frustration, but out of appreciation—for someone who has made a real difference in our children’s lives.

We respectfully ask school leadership to consider the voices of the families signing below and the strong support within the community for Paul’s return to RAE.

Our kids deserve people like Paul in their lives.
